SAAA inspires parents to take charge of caring for their children's hearing at the Baba Indaba

More than 200 parents supported the campaign staged by SAAA members at the Baba Indaba in Midrand, on the 27 –29th May 2011. Parents were encouraged to become more involved in caring for their children’s hearing. Through the dedicated support of several SAAA members, a number of primary screening tests were performed at the SAAA stand. In addition, parents participated in an interactive exercise which offered the reward of 30 Learn, Play and Hear kits sponsored by Widex South Africa. An enthusiastic number of parents requested more information on hearing care for their children. More than a quarter of the parents who participated in the campaign asked for professional assistance to have their children’s hearing tested. Goes to show that working together and closely with each other in our communities raises the profile and interest in hearing care.
